U.S. Department of Education – Washington, DC Office of Management (OM)

  • Manage and staff department-wide Computer Learning Services (CLS) program
  • Support approximately 4500 agency employees on Microsoft Office application learning needs
  • Teach 10-15 Microsoft Office classes each month in Washington, DC and regional offices nationwide
  • Offer one-on-one desk side training as needed
  • Provide help desk support via phone and e-mail
  • Supported users through upgrade to MS Office 2010/Windows 7·
  • Develop and teach curriculum on section 508 compliance and accessibility of electronic documents
  • Trained users on EmailXtender add-on feature

U.S. Department of Education – Washington, DC Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS)

  • Manage and support Trim Trio document storage and management system for grants
  • Lead system enhancement efforts and improve usability
  • Train user community on system
  • Led certification and accreditation efforts for 3-year certification cycle

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs – Washington, DC Office of Information & Technology (OI&T) 

  • Provide support for IT program and project systems initiatives
  • Provide business support including program documentation, work breakdown structure, contract management and project management
  • Provide functional support including functional analysis, business analysis and Quality Assurance
  • Provide technical management including technical oversight, planning and implementation management

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs – Washington, DC and four regional work sites VBA Office of Business Process Integration

  • Perform Independent Validation and Verification (IV&V) and Quality Assurance for the VA’s initiative to make the veterans’ medical benefits claims process electronic by scanning and indexing over 45 million images every month
  • Review images and documents against quality checklist criteria, participate in feedback loops, record metrics and provide weekly analysis
  • Perform regular facility audits and process improvement recommendations
  • Serve as an independent third party to improve the quality of the document conversion process

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs – Washington, DC VA Privacy Service

  • Developing and implementing agency-wide web-based training program on privacy topics for inclusion on VA training portal
  • Includes development of Gap Analysis on current program, creating an initial Privacy Training Framework and establishing an Integrated Project Team (IPT)
  • Training is for audiences including Privacy Officers, Information Technology, Human Resources and VA Managers

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs – Sheridan, WY Veterans Affairs Health System

  • Provided training to VA nurses and other health practitioners on the topic of “Clinical Documentation – Legally-Proven Strategies to Keep You Out of the Courtroom”
  • Developed curriculum and provided training materials
  • Facilitated hands-on, lively training workshops to train practitioners on charting of medical care in order to improve compliance and reduce risk·
  • Training delivered by Medical Documentation Subject Matter Expert (SME)/Registered Nurse (RN), Training Specialist and attorney

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) – Atlanta, GA Procurement and Grants Office

  • Conducted a Six Sigma Kaizen event to improve the procurement process with the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) staff
  • Included developing written work plan and other preparation for the events, facilitating Kaizen events, and writing a closing report 
  • Developed implementation plan to include data summary, Six Sigma analysis, value stream map of the key procurement processes, cause and effect analysis, failure mode effects analysis, and process change recommendations inclusive of suggested target goals based on objective data-driven evaluation measures

CDC – Atlanta, GA Office of Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Laboratory Services (OSELS)

  • Provide administrative program support to the Scientific Education and Professional Development Program (SEPDPO), OSELS, BMA (Business Management Office)
  • Provide customer support to internal and external partners on a wide variety of administrative topics
  • Provide internal program support to OSELS/SEPDPO/BMA

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services – Baltimore, MD Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

  • Perform FISMA security assessments by completing a security control review of the current security posture of its QIOs’ IT infrastructure and providing recommendations to satisfy FISMA compliant requirements
  • Document the existing security posture and the level of FISMA compliance of each QIO site
  • Identify deficiencies in the security posture according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and a minimum set of standard security controls
  • Categorize the weaknesses (low, moderate, high), provide recommendations for security improvement, and identify associated costs required to bring into compliance
  • Conduct FISMA training for training-qualified QIOs

Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory Laurel, MD

  • Provide Technical Staff Outsourcing for organization that supports NASA, DOD and other federal agencies
  • Includes IT, financial and engineering outsourcing
